Common questions
A photo is stuck on "downloading"
If iCloud Photos is set to Optimize iPhone Storage, the full-resolution original lives in iCloud and has to download before it can be converted, which needs a network connection. You can cancel and retry, or turn off Optimize iPhone Storage in Settings → Photos.
Where did my converted files go?
Wherever you chose on the export screen — your photo library, the Files app, or whatever you picked from the share sheet.
I paid, but HeicKit Pro isn't unlocked
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so make sure you're signed in with the same one you bought with.
My converted file is larger than the original
HEIC is a more efficient format than JPG, so converting can increase file size. Lower the quality setting, or use target file size to cap the result.
Can I convert videos?
Not currently. HeicKit works with photos, and with Live Photos converted to a still frame.
Does HeicKit upload my photos?
No. Everything happens on your device. See the privacy policy.
