By downloading or using PenSign you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. The app
PenSign lets you create, store and export images of your handwritten signature and place them on PDF documents. It is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement, as supplemented by these terms.
2. What PenSign is not
PenSign places an image of your signature on a document and flattens it into the page. It does not provide certificate-based digital signatures, identity verification, audit trails, tamper-evidence, or compliance with e-signature frameworks such as ESIGN, UETA or eIDAS qualified signatures. Whether a signature image is legally sufficient depends on your jurisdiction, the document and the other party. You are responsible for deciding whether PenSign is appropriate for your use. Nothing in the app is legal advice.
3. Your responsibilities
- Only create and use signatures that are yours, or that you are authorised to use. Do not use PenSign to forge, impersonate or deceive.
- Keep your device and your signature library secure. We recommend enabling the Face ID lock. You are responsible for anything signed from your device.
- Keep your own backups of important signatures and documents.
4. Purchases
PenSign is free with limits. A single one-time purchase unlocks the full app for your Apple ID — there is no subscription. Payments, refunds and Family Sharing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Use Restore Purchase to unlock on another device.
5. Your content
Your signatures and documents belong to you. They are stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your private iCloud. We have no access to them and claim no rights in them.
6. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that signature extraction will be error-free for every photo, or that the app will be uninterrupted.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, documents, profits or business, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
8. Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. You may stop using PenSign at any time by deleting it.
